Omega-3 fatty acids: EPA, DHA and ALA
Omega-3 fatty acids are unsaturated fatty acids that are essential for the human body, i.e. they cannot be produced by the body itself. The two most important omega-3 acids are EPA and DHA. If you want to take vegan Omega-3 Vegan fatty acids, you can use vegetable oils containing Omega-3, such as linseed, rapeseed, soya and walnut oil. However, these mainly contain alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is an omega-3 fatty acid but must first be converted into EPA and DHA by the body. Omega-3: Good for the brain, heart and eyes
Omega-3 Vegan has a high content of omega-3 fatty acids. These have the following functions, among others:
- EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function (from 250 mg EPA and DHA daily).
- DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function (from 250 mg DHA daily).
- DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal vision (from 250 mg DHA daily).
- DHA and EPA contribute to normal blood pressure (from 3 g DHA and EPA daily. Do not take more than 5 g DHA and EPA per day)
Omega-3 for pregnant and breastfeeding women
If pregnant or breastfeeding women take DHA, it contributes to the normal development of the eyes and brain in the foetus or breastfed infant. Condition: The mother must take 250 mg DHA and EPA daily and an additional 200 mg DHA.
Omega-3 from algae
Algae are a good plant-based source of omega-3 fatty acids. The marine algae Schizochytrium sp. produces EPA and, above all, DHA. The microalgae is a tiny plant that is only visible under a microscope and consists of just a few cells.
The microalgae in Omega-3 Vegan are cultivated in salt water and extracted and processed in Switzerland. It is a high-quality refined oil obtained using physical extraction technology and without solvents.
Omega-3 from field stone seed
The seeds of the field stone seed (Buglossoides arvensis) contain in particular the omega-3 fatty acid SDA (stearidonic acid). [loggedin]Our body can convert this into EPA and DHA. [/loggedin] Our field stone seed oil is obtained from plants that are not genetically modified (GMO-free).
Study on the conversion of SDA to EPA
A randomised, double-blind and placebo-controlled human study showed that the oil from the seeds of the field stone seed is converted into EPA three to four times better than linseed oil. Field stone seed contains 18-20% SDA, which is the highest known content of naturally occurring SDA of any vegetable oil.

What else is contained in Omega-3 Vegan?
- Vitamin E as an antioxidant: Omega-3 Vegan contains a natural extract with a high tocopherol content (vitamin E). This serves as a natural antioxidant.
- Lecithin for better bioavailability: Omega-3 Vegan contains a special lecithin (a phospholipid) from sunflowers. This serves as a natural emulsifier and enables the mixing of fat and water (see pictures).
Special formulation against burping
