Sea fish – added value! Flavourless fish oil with high levels of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA.
Fish oil with a high omega-3 content
Our fish oil comes from sustainable catches in Norway and has a remarkably high content of omega-3 fatty acids. [loggedin]We also add astaxanthin-rich oleoresin from the algae Haematococcus pluvialis. As it is tasteless and not encapsulated, Omega-3 Vida can also be taken by children. [/loggedin] 10 ml (= 1 tablespoon) contains 1150 mg EPA and 1000 mg DHA.
EPA, DHA and omega-3
Omega-3 fatty acids are unsaturated fatty acids that are essential for the human body, i.e. they cannot be produced by the body itself. Omega-3 fatty acids are mainly found in algae, plants and fish.

Good for brain, eyes and heart
Omega-3 Vida has a high content of omega-3 fatty acids. These have the following functions, among others:
- EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function (from 250 mg EPA and DHA daily = 1/8 tablespoon Omega-3 Vida).
- DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function (from 250 mg DHA daily = 1/4 tablespoon).
- DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal vision (from 250 mg DHA daily = 1/4 tablespoon).
- DHA and EPA contribute to normal blood pressure. (from 3 g DHA and EPA daily = 1 1/2 tablespoons)
If pregnant or breastfeeding women take DHA, it contributes to the normal development of the eyes and brain in the foetus or breastfed infant. Condition: The mother must take 250 mg of DHA and EPA daily and an additional 200 mg of DHA (= 1/4 tablespoon of Omega-3 Vida).
Who needs omega-3 fatty acids?
Supplementation with omega-3 fatty acids is particularly important for
- People whose eating habits rarely include oily fish or krill.
- People for whom the good condition of the eyes, heart and brain is an important criterion.
Triglyceride content (TG value): Marker for bioavailability
Natural fish oil contains all fatty acids in a triglyceride structure, also known as triacylglycerol or glycerol triester. There are 3 fatty acids on one glycerol. In the course of concentration, the triple structures are broken up (esterified), unwanted fatty acids are removed and then reassembled to form the triglyceride. However, the conversion back into triglycerides is time-consuming and cost-intensive. This is why the majority of manufacturers today only offer the artificial ester form (ethyl ester). However, this has no value for the body as it is not bioavailable. The triglyceride content therefore says something about the quality of the concentrate and can be measured as the TG value in the product. The higher the triglyceride content (TG value), the better the absorption or bioavailability of the triglycerides in the intestine. The optimum would be 100%. Blockquote: Omega-3 Vida has a triglyceride content of at least 90% in the concentrate. This is a very good value compared to conventional fish oils with 50-70%!
